Early Literacy Skills
We offer early literacy skills tutoring for children to build a strong foundation in skills such as phonological/phonemic awareness, letter recognition, print awareness, and fine motor skills. Research shows that children who enter Grade 1 with these skills have the greatest chance of becoming successful readers and writers.
Math
Our math instruction is based on research about the best ways in which students learn. We provide access to high-quality math instruction to develop math proficiency. Our math programs use explicit, incremental instruction to help students build confidence in their math skills. Our Math services are offered in both French and English.
Literacy Tutoring
We offer structured literacy using an evidence-based, systematic phonics program. Our literacy tutoring is based on the principles of the Ontario Right to Read Report and helps bridge the gaps in the current education system. Our tutors focus on teaching skills such as phonological awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Writing Help
Our experienced tutors are trained to work with students at all levels and can help them develop their writing skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Our tutors can assist with a variety of writing assignments, including essays, research papers, and creative writing projects. We focus on teaching students the fundamentals of writing, such as grammar, syntax, and organization, as well as advanced writing techniques, such as persuasive writing and argumentation.
French Tutoring
Our French Structured Literacy classes are designed toprovide students with the necessary skills to become successful readers and writers. Our tutors use a structured literacy approach, which is a research-based method that has been proven to be effective for teaching reading and writing to struggling learners.
Homework Help
We offer homework help to take the mental load off of parents. Our tutors reinforce and practice concepts learned in class, teach organization skills and responsibility, and create plans for getting homework done.
